Notary Fees in Western PA: What’s Reasonable for Mobile Service?

g1 2025 by Christian Nichols

Pennsylvania caps in-office notarial acts, but mobile service adds travel and convenience. Here’s how pricing works so you know what’s fair before you book.

State-Regulated Fees

  • Jurats, acknowledgments, and verifications: up to $5 per signature in PA.
  • Certified copies and oaths: up to $5 per act.
  • These caps apply to the notarial act itself, not travel.

Mobile Travel & Convenience

Mobile notaries charge travel to cover time and mileage. My zone-based rates start at $50 for Butler County and increase with distance to Allegheny, Erie, and surrounding areas.

You’ll always get a quote that includes travel, expected signatures, and any rush fees before you confirm.

Rush & After-Hours Pricing

  • $25 evening/weekend surcharge when applicable.
  • $50 emergency fee for arrivals requested under two hours.
  • Loan signings include print/scan time—quoted per file.

FAQs

Do you discount multiple signatures?

Yes—if multiple documents are signed in one visit, I group pricing so you only pay one travel fee.

Is pricing different for hospitals or jails?

Travel zones still apply. Security delays are factored into the quote so you know the total up front.

How do I pay?

Cash, card, Zelle, Venmo, PayPal, and business invoices are accepted.
